Avenged Sevenfold is an American rock band from California. The band is known for songs including "Bat Country", Beast and the Harlot and "Seize The Day". These songs highlighted the success of their album City of Evil.
The band was again successful with their self titled album including "Afterlife" and "Dear God".
As of 2009, members of the band included M. Shadows, Zacky Vengeance, Synyster Gates, Johnny Christ and drummer The Rev, who sadly passed away in late 2009.
